Magicians in Minnesota Bring Fun to the Party

When it is time to have a party you want to bring entertainment that will grab your guest's attention and bring a smile.  Magicians in Minnesota love to add life to the party.

A dazzling comedy magic show will bring many smiles. Your guests will be glad they came to the party.

This past week I entertained a large company party at Mystic Lake Casino for the second year. I also brought comedy to a company banquet at Canterbury Park's Presidential Suite.  It was a blast.  We received many wonderful comments after. Magic brings a smile to everyone.

It was also fun to bring a magic show to a family in Minneapolis for their daughter's 10th birthday.  The girls laughed and were happy to help make magic tricks happen in the show. Magic is for for corporate or even a children's party.

When you are planning a fun special event or party consider a comedy magician to bring some extra fun to the party. Please check out: MagicNorm.com

Birthday Party Magician in Minneapolis

It is so fun to be a birthday party magician in Minneapolis. Last weekend between corporate gigs I enjoyed bringing some magic to a 7 year old girl's birthday party.  I enjoy seeing the smiling faces of the children and the laughter is so nice to hear.  The parents were enjoying it so much too.  I enjoy seeing the whole family enjoy time together with a magic show in their home.

This party was in Ham Lake, MN just north of Minneapolis.  The birthday girl was so sweet and it was fun to see her reaction as she waved the magic wand and made the tricks happen.

I love bringing joy to parties and special events. Please check out the birthday party page at magician-minneapolis.com

I've done parties for 16 year olds and 5 year olds. Nine -12 year olds are a blast too!   I tailor the magic to fit their age group.  I've done magic for 40 year olds and 50 year olds and even a doctor who was 80! His family loved it!!

Magic adds fun to birthday parties! Try it - you will like it.

Busy, Busy Weekend of Magic Shows

Presented eight - 20 minute shows last night at New Hope Church. My 5th time there.

Then during day had a great time entertaining a wonderful bunch of seniors at the Crest View Lutheran Nursing Home. It is fun to see the smiles that comedy magic brings.

Friday and Saturday nights were full with 3 mystery and magic shows each eve at the Haunted Hayride at Running Aces.

During day Saturday was a Church banquet in Fridley and a magic show for the party at a apartment and town home community.  The kids were packed in.

It is fun to hear all the laughter that a comedy magic show brings.  I enjoy bringing some fun to all ages.

I am tired -- but prepping for Pennsylvania trip to speak, teach and perform at a convention of entertainers. That will be a vacation compared to the past 6 days.

The designer and owner, Bert has partnered with the Twins Community Fund.  He has personally designed the new corn maze commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Minnesota Twins 1991 World Series Championship.

This is a huge maze covering 17.5 acres.

This fun family festival is run by Bert, Molly and their kids. Bert is quoted as saying,
"Thanks to all who visited last year and helped make it a great first year! Because of you, we were able to raise over $26,000 for the Twins Community Fund!"

Magician in Minneapolis

Recently I had the opportunity to present strolling magic for a fund raising gala in Minneapolis.  They sent a nice comment after.

"Norm provided his 'walk-around' magic services for our 5th Anniversary Gala at the Graves 601 Hotel here in Minneapolis. Having used his stage show services in the past, we already knew him to be the best choice. Norm is not only a master magician but doing his 'mingling magic' he's also a master of providing magic and comedy in a respective and unobtrusive manner. He knows how to work his way in and around the crowd, so you hardly know he's there until bursts of laughter or "WOWs" are heard from various small groups around the event. Norm, you're simply the BEST!"

- Tricia Haynes, MicroGrants Gala at the Graves 601 Hotel, Minneapolis.

It is fun to be a Magician in Minneapolis. I enjoy seeing the smiling faces.

Yes, Magicians will Teach Their Tricks

Well, for a price.  Many magicians are invited to teach others at conferences on magic.  I was recently in Atlanta teaching my comedy magic inventions. I also taught a class on how to think in a theatrical way and add those techniques to solo performances.  In addition I taught a class on running a small business and a number of other ones. Eight different subjects total.

I strive to be unique in my approach to magic. There are many Magicians in Minnesota and it is necessary to stand out in some creative way.  My magic show based in St Paul and Minneapolis is full of unusual and original tricks. I also present the show in a original way with lots of comedy that I came up with over the years.

I love to teach the creative process to others so I go to conventions and teach. This year so far in NYC, Atlanta and Mystic, CT.

The convention organizers also like to invite a magician who does an original act so the others gathered can see something fresh and new.  So many magicians do the same 25 tricks that the other magicians are doing and people see them over and over. So I strive to be unique in presentation or method.

I recently received an order for my third DVD for professionals and the fellow had my first two.  His comment, "I have your other DVDs and they are awesome! Just right for my character!!"

I am glad to be able to encourage other performers to change up their shows and add new comedy material. It is fun to be recognized by my peers.

Mondo Juggling Festival a Huge Success

Dave Walbridge,  Jerry Mertins and the team put together another great Mondo Juggling Festival. Now in its 22 year.

The Saturday night show was held at Central High School in St. Paul and featured acts from as far away as Germany and Denver.  I was excited to be a part of this show to act as variety doing magic in a mostly juggling and unicycle show.  This was a very fun crowd and I had a blast.

I was Wrong

Winter is back in Minnesota. It is fun to see the winter wonderland again.  But I think I would prefer flowers and Robins.

Chilly Cold Outside

One more winter storm races through our area dropping a sleety mix tonight. Yay?

Winter is really close to being over and I am thankful.  It may not seem like it, but if this sort of moisture was falling from the clouds a few weeks ago and we would have had a ton o snow.

I am happy as the days are noticeably longer than just a short time ago and the sun seems brighter in the sky.

I drove back from working a convention in NYC last weekend with the light of the super moon blazing through the night.  It was great and this made it easier to drive til 3AM.

May your days be brighter and your blessing many.

Hearts go out to Japan

I am very saddened by the news from Japan. My brother and wife have lived there many years and at this point are OK as they live in the southern area. This is a heartbreaking situation and my prayers are for the people of Japan.

I was to meet 20 friends and associates from Japan this week as we were to be instructors and performers at an international festival and convention.  I still have not heard from them and hope they are safe.  Their excellence in performing arts inspires me and I look forward to spending time with them on stage and off.  At this time all we can do is wait for news. Bless you my friends.

Article in the Austin Daily Herald on Magician at School

The headline reads... "Reading Magician wows Students" and they had two nice photos of the act in progress. I have entertained audiences in Austin, Minnesota many times over the years.

This article went on to say, "one of his best tricks was getting kids to read." It also said, "His quirky sense of humor keeps students and adults interested from beginning to end."

Besides working at most of the Austin, MN schools over the years I have also enjoyed entertaining at the public library. Everyone enjoys a comedy magic show. It is fun to see the parents laughing and having fun with their kids.

I have also entertained at the Albert Lea Library 10 times over the past 28 years.  The Skyline Mall in Albert Lea used to have me come every year for Crazy Days and do Magic shows in the Mall.  It has been a while, but I stay so busy in the Twin Cities that I don't get down there as often. Maybe we can bring some magic to Austin and Albert Lea Minnesota again.

If you need a magic show in Austin, MN or Albert Lea, just call.   www.magicnorm.com/school.html

Thanks for the Kind Reviews

"St Paul Magician Norm Barnhart performs tricks for an enthusiastic group of youngsters at the River Falls Library. His motivational message about reading was interspersed between tricks that brought cheers form the audience."  They had a nice photo in the paper also with all the kids smiling and looking amazed.

I have appeared at this library 5 times over the past 15 years and it is always a blast.  more about the magic of reading for schools and libraries at MagicNorm.com/school.html

Author Visit to Red Balloon Bookstore in St. Paul

The Red Balloon Bookstore in St. Paul, MN recently invited me back to do a book signing and also to present some magic for the children.

I met a wonderful children's book illustrator at the show and his son enjoyed making some magic with me during the show. A couple of his books were in the store and his art was fantastic.

I look forward to bringing more fun to the store in the months ahead. They had nearly sold out of my books.
