Mikael Rudolph Memorial Service

Last Friday evening was the memorial service for wonderful comedy entertainer and physical comedian Mikael Rudolph. He passed away at 51 years old, after a hard battle with cancer. He was someone I've know for over 25 years. I studied movement, and physical comedy with him several times. He was a student of Marcel Marceau and was highly praised by his teacher.

Mikeal worked the Renaissance Festival for many years and was named their best new act and won many other awards for excellence. He included magic and comedy in his amazing act.

The following are thoughts written after the Memorial.

Thank you for the sweet and touching tribute to Mikael on Friday. The video and the comments and the dancing and the mime and music were all so sweet.

I had wonderful Mikael dreams that night. I woke up three times and remembered the vivid dreams that included hanging out with Mikael and doing things and going places... they were all new, by that I mean not memories of the past, but very cool new adventures. I figure they were wish fulfillment type dreams. But I like to think of them as a taste of what heaven must be like... plenty of time to be with cool people on cool adventures. Bless you Mikael.

Magic with the Minnesota Twins

Lots of people lined up to get an autograph from Tony Oliva great player for the Minnesota Twins. My job is fun. I had the joy of entertaining those in line with comedy magic. When the line ended I was able to get an autograph too. Tony is a great guy and was so welcoming to the fans.

The group hired me to entertain the hundreds of people who had to wait up to an hour for their chance to meet the former Twins player. It was very fun to share my magic and comedy with these families.

Baseball season has started again and the new Target Field is going to be a place where many more memories are made.

Thank you, Thank you

I am thankful for so many returning clients. Comedy and Magic brings smiles and laughter.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of presenting my comedy magic show for a group that has had be 5 or 6 times over the past 12 years. I guess they were happy with the quality of my magic show as just this morning they re-booked for this same Easter Egg Hunt next year. I have several different magic shows so I am able to bring a different one so the children and families enjoy a whole new show next year.

They also are bringing me in for several shows over the evening of Halloween this October, 2010. It is a lot of fun to be a Minnesota magician. Audiences in Minneapolis, MN and across the Midwest enjoy the comedy Magic and fun.

I am looking forward to bringing my cool Minnesota magic to your event.

Magic is Fun

This week I enjoyed presenting 2 comedy magic shows at a school that has had me every year for over 25 years. The students and teachers are so sweet! This is a fun and caring atmosphere to learn and grow.

I like to motivate the youngsters with my presentation on the value of reading. I see one of my gifts as being an encourager. When kids are encouraged to read they will do well in all their subjects in school.

Magic is a great metaphor and it grabs people's attention and gets them thinking about the fun they can have reading about hobbies, interests and jobs. Look for the show coming to a library near you this summer.

Young Readers enjoy Norm's Book

Today I have the joy of dropping off about 30 books to a school in Maple Grove. I did three shows at this school recently for over 900 students and many kids wanted to have their own copy of one of my books autographed.

The library at this school has a number of my books already, and many students check them out. The librarian was excited to have a Minnesota author and magician come and speak to the students and encourage them to read. For nearly 30 years I have motivated young readers with a comical magic show that grabs their attention.

I bring comedy and magic to audiences of all ages and tailor my magic show to each group. You can get a copy of any of my books at Amazon.com.

Comedy Magic is fun for Parties

I love to entertain at parties for families. Many are celebrating a special event, birthday or block party. Over the past 28 years I've brought comedy, magic and fun to all sorts of events.

Major corporations such as US Bank, Deluxe Check, Spire Credit Union, 3M, Marsden, Best Buy, Imation and Ceridian have used my magic to entertain their guests for annual family picnics, holiday parties and staff meetings. The summer company picnic is a great way for families of employees to get together and have some fun. This team building is a great moral builder and encourages the team.

As a Minnesota Magician I enjoy bringing laughs and fun to special events. More on this magical and fun way to bring people together at MagicNorm.com

Spring is Here!

Lovely day with lots of warm breezes blowing through. I got screen windows up and tomatoes, cucumbers, daiseys and habanero hot peppers planted inside. Our home becomes a greenhouse this time of year and the plants will be ready to put into the garden in late May.

A U. of M. Professor / scientist was on the radio last week and said that March in Minnesota is a wild month. High has been as high as 80 and the low has been 35 below zero! So we are in for more snow and rain and etc, but that is Minnesota... never a dull moment.

March in Minnesota is sort of like a wild comedy magic show, expect the unexpected! I like to surprise kids with the comedy magic... pulling snowflakes from their ears in the summer and making a snowman magically appear in the show (OK, the snowman is only 2 feet tall, but the kids ooh and ahh!)

I like to make laughs and spread smiles with my comedy magic. This weekend included a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Career fair in Oakdale. It was nice to meet and encourage the enthusiastic scoutsn to do their best.

Magic and Fun for Everyone

Magic makes you feel like a kid again! I love to watch a magician blow me away with his unusual tricks and stunts. It takes me back to being in 3rd grade seeing my first real magic show at school. The magic was awesome and amazing!

People need some laughs and a good mystery every so often, and a magic show grabs attention and gives us a sense of wonder. This is why so many adults come up after my magic show and say that they had more fun than the kids. Laughter is good medicine, and combined with a puzzling magic trick this is a great combination.

I present my magical entertainment for many family gatherings. Cub Scouts, School PTA family nights and festivals. All ages enjoy the comedy and fun. Last weekend I presented a show for a family birthday party and the kids were having a blast and the 15 or so parents were having a blast watching the kids reaction to the tricks. Of course, every so often I would catch a parent with a look of amazement on their face.

Let me bring my Minnesota magic to your next family gathering or special event. MagicNorm.com

Comedy and Magic Bring Laughs to Winter Show

This past weekend I had a great time entertaining families with comedy and magic at the North Dakota Winter Show. It is sort of a state fair that is held in the winter time. There is a huge indoor rodeo that draws a crowd. Also in the arena were the World Famous Cowboy Chicks trick riders. There were also several bands performing throughout the week.

I did six shows at the Winter Show and Rodeo and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with future country music great, Greg Hager. I say future great as he is someone who is about to take off in that field and just is waiting for his break. he has three albums recorded in Nashville that are filled with his original lyrics and music. He writes from the heart and his songs have a real feel for the working man because he is a hard working guy. Raised on a North Dakota Dairy Farm and he still works in farming and part time at a implement dealer when there are not crops to attend to. His music has the feel of cowboy music, so is a bit different from modern country western. I hope the best for him and you can sample his tracks and learn more at GregHager.com

We had packed houses for the shows here at the Wonder Show and I enjoyed seeing the children, teens, parents and grandparents enjoy the comedy magic show. It is my joy to bring laughs to fairs, festivals and special events. For more information please check: MagicNorm.com
